Marjan Zahed-Kindersley

Marjan Zahed-Kindersley

Having been schooled in Germany, Iran and England, Marjan graduated in Combined Philosophy and German (link paper: Aesthetics), King’s College, London University and studied a variety of subjects, including Pianoforte Teaching, English Literature and cinema, before specialising in Black and White Fine Art Photography, having studied at L.E.F.E.T (Ecole privee de communication visuelle), Paris, S.P.E.O.S, Paris and Sozial/Portraitfotografie, Medienkulturzentrum, Dresden.
Marjan uses an old Leica M3 camera, develops her own film and produces real, original hand-prints of quality in limited editions.
She’s been exhibiting her work across Europe in places varying from reputable galleries to hanging her bra pictures on a coatrack at the local pub in London.
Deliberately failing to conform to single strand locational identities -a notion instilled by her late father, surrealist painter Davoud Zahed-, she has been focusing on personification and juxtaposition of objects with the purpose of a humanitarian approach of the individual within the collective.
Her current mantra is:
“There is no pleasure to me without communication: there is not so much as a sprightly thought comes into my mind that it does not grieve me to have produced alone, and that I have no one to tell it to.” Montaigne
Her long-term ambition is: to be so perfect that there is room for development.
