Mitra Rahbar is a multifaceted artist who uses voice, music, and writing as her forum to advocate peace, human rights and spiritual awareness. Mitra started her work early as a child in theatre and dance and later on transitioned into singing and songwriting. Mitra has worked with new age legendary artist Randall Leonard, on her first album, The Sunshine’s In You, and recieved guidance from Persian Folk Legend, Pari Zangene, for her second album, Persian Treasures. Her latest cd, Nirvana is a set of original compositions of her own works and her husband’s, Rama Morovati.
Mitra has written and performed for Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Prize Recipient, Hillary Clinton, Dennis Kucinich as well has recently having performed with American Rock/Country Singer, Sheryl Crow.In the past few years Mitra has also worked on various films, ie., The Olive Harvest, Spartacus, and Shangahai Red. In 2006 Mitra recieved The Los Angeles Music Award for her song Nirvana.
