Letters from Iran
Letters from Iran is a moving account of an exile’s return to his homeland. Through a series of letters written to a friend in America, he describes his homecoming and the ambivalent emotions it evokes in him. His joyous reunion with his family is coupled with feelings of deep sadness and longing for a vanished past.
More than two decades after the revolution, Iran is still a mystery to outsiders, including many expatriate Iranians. Letters from Iran provides a glimpse at the everyday life in present-day Tehran and uncovers the political and cultural changes taking place.
