Reza Memari
Reza Memari was born on March 1976 in Orumieh, Iran. His family subsequently moved to Munich, Germany, where he graduated from the Academy for Marketing and Communication. Until 1999 he worked as a Public Relations Manager and later as the European Product Manager for a major American video game publisher. Despite having reached great success within the marketing industry, he threw caution to the wind and decided to follow his childhood dream of becoming a film director.
With a wildly cinematic imagination, and the undeniable urge to express it, a filmmaker was born. At the age of 23, he began refining his storytelling skills while working as an editor on countless projects for film and television. His breakout first short “Fingerfood”, which he wrote, produced and directed, screened at Festivals and received a Jury Award for its CGI Effects.
Since those early steps, he has directed, edited and written numerous commercials, internet virals, music videos, as well as a number of short films that have screened at festivals around the world. Currently based in Berlin, Reza, in collaboration with his producing partners, is in active development on three feature film projects and one animated feature film.
